Daniel Joseph Fusco

Daniel Fusco 081419 onlineFebruary 4, 1989 – August 2, 2019 Daniel Fusco passed away on August 2nd. He is much loved and deeply missed by his parents, Joe Fusco and Karen Parker of Los Altos, CA. Daniel was born and raised in Los Altos and loved sports. As a child he earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He attended Mountain View High School where he played football, and lacrosse with the Tomahawks. He also played Varsity lacrosse at Sonoma State University. Daniel had a real passion for surfing and snowboarding and enjoyed helping others master the sports he loved. His big heart, generous smile and quirky humor nurtured lifelong friendships. He will be much missed by all, especially his best friends Chris Gudmundson and Ben Fletcher. Daniel leaves behind his parents, Karen and Joe, many aunts, uncles and cousins and his grandmother, Isabell Fusco of Hillsdale, N.Y. with whom he shared a special relationship.

Donald Ernest Davis

Donald Ernest Davis 081419 onlineLongtime Los Altos resident, Donald Ernest Davis, died peacefully on July 28, 2019, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Don was born on April 3, 1923, in Salem, Oregon. He was the youngest of four children of Schuyler and Blanche Davis. He and his family then moved to San Diego, where he was raised and eventually graduated from Point Loma High School. He was accepted to and began attending Stanford University in 1941. His college years were interrupted while he proudly served his country in Europe as a member of the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity and he continued assisting in organizing their annual Stanford football game reunion for more than 50 years after his graduation. After graduating from Stanford in 1948, he began working at J.C. Penney in Palo Alto.It was there that he met Doris Bash and in October 1951 they began what turned out to be 68 years of marriage. He moved his family to Los Altos in 1958. Shortly thereafter he began a long career at AMES Research Center at Moffett Field.

Scouting News: Girls Scouts honor award recipients

Los Altos City Councilwomen Anita Enander and Neysa Fligor celebrate Girl Scouts Gold and Silver award recipients.

Girl Scouts of Northern California Service Unit 608 honored Gold, Silver and Bronze award recipients at the Grant Park Community Center April 28.

Three Girl Scouts earned Gold Awards, the highest award in Girl Scouts, 12 earned Silver Awards and two Junior troops earned Bronze Awards.
