(Longtime Los Altos resident Elaine Woulfe, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 28. 2018. Elaine was born March 30, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to John and Mary (May) Houlihan. Shortly after graduating from St. Catherine University School of Nursing, she moved to California. On January 15, 1949 she married Robert Woulfe in San Francisco. She worked as a psychiatric nurse at El Camino Hospital, Valley Medical, and Crystal Springs. She loved to travel, paint watercolors, and do crossword puzzles. She was an avid, competitive bridge and Scrabble player and thoroughly loved her coffee!
Elaine was a parishioner at St. William Catholic Church and a longtime AA member. Robert Woulfe, her parents, and brothers Jackie, Vernon, and Alvin preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Marni Moch (David) of Eugene, OR, Michael (Caryl) of Berkeley, CA, Mary Woulfe-Consiglio (Peter) of Westlake, OR, and Maureen Berry (Michael) of Bend, OR; grandchildren Kevin Woulfe, Keith Consiglio, Erin Woulfe, and Allison Berry; and great-granddaughter Gabriela Marquez. She is also survived by her nieces Margaret and Karen. A Memorial Service will be offered Wednesday, November 28, at 1:00 p.m. at St. William, 611 S. El Monte Avenue, Los Altos.
